There have been changes recently in the Right To Buy procedure;
- New tenants since March 2011 have no right to buy
- All tenants of CDHA (prior to stock transfer), right to buy was suspended until 2022 last year. This category also includes all tenants in former GHA properties who became tenants after June 2010
- CDHA tenants who held a tenancy prior to January 1989 still have right to buy
- Former GHA tenants who became CDHA tenants on the 28 June 2010 still maintain right to buy
The Scottish Government intends to include a proposal to end all right to buy entitlement for social housing tenants in Scotland in the forthcoming Housing Bill. Entitlement will end three years from the date the Bill receives Royal Assent.
